GWA consists of a core team, including a number of printers and teachers. In addition, the foundation is supported and sustained by dozens of volunteers and sympathizers.
Day-to-day operations are directed by the coordinator. Final responsibility lies with the board. GWA offers internships within the dynamics of the foundation: the workshop is not open all week. There is always demand for new employees in the areas of recruitment and workshop assistance. What we offer is a vibrant workshop, experience, and of course a Valhalla for the print lover! Interested? Take contact with the coordinator.
Sign up as a volunteer
GWA runs largely on the enthusiasm of volunteers. Therefore, we are always looking for new craft enthusiasts! Please note that before you can volunteer, you must first have taken a course in one of the techniques. After that we mainly ask for your enthusiasm – and for your time. A volunteer needs to be at least one day a week in the workshop. Work consists of a wide variety of activities: from telling the story of GWA to a lost tourist to raising wooden letters. Of course, you also have the opportunity to make your own work, or take courses. After three months there will be an evaluation in which we will see if expectations are met on both sides.

Internship
GWA works with interns from various courses throughout the year. We don’t go looking for them ourselves, but are always open to ideas.
Internships so far vary from a high school student for a few days, to an HKU student for 6 months. Of course, we also have a few requirements. For example, as an intern it is important that you are involved in visual arts and education. This means that you find it interesting to transfer knowledge gained about craft techniques, and must be able to do so. An internship at GWA is never just a “making” internship, although you will have ample opportunity to create your own work. Furthermore, we require an extremely independent and proactive attitude. There is an endless amount to learn, but you are in charge.
Please note that GWA is not an official apprenticeship. As a result, we often do not qualify for internships on ROC courses.
Fancy it? So do we.
