Boxmaking
Making your own boxes: in this short course you will learn how to make a perfect box. Cardboarding is the ideal technique to make a box for that beautiful book you want to keep, or as a gift with beautiful cards inside. We will work with linen, cardboard and decorative paper under the enthusiastic guidance of Karin Jansen.
There are, of course, several methods of fabricating a box. One very attractive one is the Japanese method. It often has very ingenious closures. In this workshop we will start with a simpler method, but there is always the possibility of moving on to a follow-up course if there is sufficient interest.
Teacher Karin Jansen [insta: @papierrivier], together with her sister Saskia, also designs and silk-screens beautiful paper suitable for lining boxes or books. The paper is sold at paper specialty shop Vlieger in Amsterdam, among other places.
Making your own boxes: in this short course of five lessons, or during a weekend workshop, you will learn how to make a perfect box.
