Werkman Workshop

Price:  165,00

Hendrik Nicolaas Werkman (1882-1945) still captures the imagination even 75 years after his death. During the Werkman workshop we will spend an intensive day working in the style of this Groningen printer/artist. One day focused on the typography and stencils that made this printer so famous. Supported by professionals from the workshop, you will create your own project using the wooden and lead letters, stencil materials and the various proof presses. Including a knee-high press from 1850, precisely the press on which Werkman himself preferred to make his famous “printings.

Because everyone is working on a small print run, at the end each participant will have their own folder of work from themselves and everyone else.

A combination weekend of two of the most enjoyable techniques: during this workshop you will work with the wooden and lead letters on the letterpresses on Saturday, and on the intaglio presses with linoleum on Sunday.

What you learn about presses, gouges and inks at lino on Saturday, you can apply to wood just a little differently on Sunday.

Nothing finer than sending and receiving a wish, made of real paper and nice smelling ink. A clattering mailbox, that’s what we want. So print your own wish with letters, shapes and colors on the most beautiful kinds of paper!
