This print gushed gezel Alette de Roos during GWA’s first Master Seeks Apprentice program, a project to train “young printers” in letterpress, relief printing, intaglio and bookbinding, with the creation of a letterpress diary as a common thread.

During the printing of the [TYPO]Graphic Agenda 2020, the Asbern (carved from linoleum at right) occasionally turned into an edition press, with 120 prints per day: Printing on the Asbern is an intensive job, with the printer on duty walking a few meters with the trade to make a print. Alette also logged some miles alongside the press, and somewhere along the way decided to honor the integrating press, with electric inking and an infinitely adjustable printing cylinder, with its own lino… Asbern: the rolls royce among presses!
