BIXA is the wooden letter designed and created in 2013 by Mark van Wageningen/NovoTypo, in collaboration with GWA. This unique poster is also printed with homemade ink on homemade paper, consisting of paper scraps from walk-ins of his publications… The poster can be purchased from NovoTypo itself, for example via Instagram, and costs €100.00 excluding shipping.
The BIXA is made up of five different shapes: Regular, Construct, Black, Left/Right and Thin. Combining them together creates a multi-color text image. The project in which this letter originated was called 3D&Inkt. The Arabic wooden letter also originated there. Printing with this chromatic wooden letter yourself? Workshops are regularly offered under the guidance of NovoTypo itself. Welcome to the workshop!
