Etching is an intaglio printing technique. This means that only the lines deeper in the material are printed. This course will cover the dry needle technique and etching. At GWA, line etching is done primarily “electrolytically. This is a fairly revolutionary and environmentally friendly method of etching that does not involve acids but produces peak results. In addition to this basic course, GWA will be offering day workshops in aquatint in the near future.
