Sending truly original New Year’s wishes? Of course, you can do that very well with letterpress. GWA pulls open all the cabinets again on Sunday, December 15: cabinets full of letters but also images, clichés and other exciting forms. A super energetic day full of letterpress, craft and ink. There is room for a maximum of 6 participants, but if you want to work with someone on one press, and on the same cards, you may work with two for the action price of €175.
At the end of the day, you take home a whole stack of self-printed cards. And if they’re not dry yet, pick them up one of the next days. Nothing like sending and receiving a wish, made of real paper and nice smelling ink. A clattering mailbox, that’s what we want. Children ages 8 and up are welcome, but only as part of a duo with an adult.
A combination weekend of two of the most enjoyable techniques: during this workshop you will work with the wooden and lead letters on the letterpresses on Saturday, and on the intaglio presses with linoleum on Sunday.
What you learn about presses, gouges and inks at lino on Saturday, you can apply to wood just a little differently on Sunday.
