H.N. Werkman workshop

Hendrik Nicolaas Werkman (1882-1945) still sparks the imagination even 75 years after his death. During the Werkman workshop we will spend an intensive day working in the style of this Groninger printer/artist. One day solely focused on the typography and stencils that made this printer so famous.

Supported by skilled workers from the workshop, you will create your own project using the wooden letters and metal type, stencil materials and the various proof presses. Including a iron handpress from 1850, the same press on which Werkman himself preferred to make his famous printings.

At the end of the workshop, each participant will have their own folder of work from themselves and everyone else.

In the spirit of Werkman, the Groningen printer and artist, a full day at work in Amsterdam’s Graphic Workshop: letterpress and stencils.
